So many subtle, yet pervasive, aspects of modern day life are perceived by the brain as threats to our survival. Most of us have very little awareness of these threats or the consequences they have on health and wellbeing. This lecture will first explore the neurobiology of the relationship between modern day stress and the brain. We will then dive into the overwhelming body of research looking at how mindful meditation leads to beneficial changes in our brains by countering the effects of stress.
